Karachi (HRNW)- A grand guard-changing ceremony was held at the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on the occasion of Independence Day.
Cadets of the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed the duties of the guards of honor at the mausoleum. The ceremony is held every year on August 14 as part of Independence Day celebrations.
The Pakistan Navy’s honor guard at the mausoleum consists of two contingents. One contingent comprises Pakistan Navy sailors, while the other consists of cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy.
The chief guest, Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy Rear Admiral Muhammad Umair, laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam and offered Fateha.
Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also visited the Quaid’s mausoleum. Speaking to the media, the Sindh Governor said Pakistan has become stronger in terms of defense and praised the country’s armed forces for their response to security challenges.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said Pakistan came into existence through the power of the vote and highlighted Sindh’s historic role in the Pakistan Movement, recalling the resolution presented in the Sindh Legislative Assembly in Karachi on October 10, 1938.
The ceremony reflected the nation’s commitment to honoring the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day.
