Riyadh (HRNW)- Eid holidays and additional wage rules have been officially announced for private sector employees in Saudi Arabia under the country’s Labor Law.
According to details, employees in the private sector will be entitled to fully paid holidays on both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. A standard four-day Eid al-Adha holiday will be granted starting from 9th Dhul-Hijjah (Day of Arafah).
Article 112 of the Saudi Labor Law guarantees employees paid leave on Eid and other official occasions, and employers are not allowed to deduct these holidays from salaries.
The law further states that if employees are required to work during Eid holidays, companies must provide overtime compensation in accordance with Saudi regulations. This includes payment at 1.5 times the normal daily wage.
It is also noted that in Saudi Arabia, 1st Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH will fall on Monday, May 18, 2026, while Arafah will be observed on Tuesday, May 26, and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27.
