Karachi District City Police Weekly Report: 73 Suspects Arrested in Targeted Operations

KARACHI (HRNW): The District City Police of the South Zone have concluded a high-impact week of targeted operations, resulting in the arrest of 73 suspects involved in various serious crimes. According to the police spokesperson, these actions were part of an intensified crackdown to curb street crime, drug trafficking, and violent offenses across the district.

Key Arrests and Operational Highlights

The police report details several significant breakthroughs achieved over the past seven days:

  • Homicide and Violent Crimes: Three suspects were apprehended in connection with the high-profile Musa murder case. Additionally, five individuals were arrested for their involvement in a violent clash that resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to three others.

  • Street Crime and Robbery: Six suspects allegedly involved in multiple incidents of robbery and street crimes were taken into custody.

  • Public Safety and Harassment: One suspect was arrested for harassing women, reflecting the department’s commitment to gender-based safety.

  • Narcotics and Contraband: Operations against the drug trade led to the arrest of 8 narcotics suppliers and 9 individuals involved in the distribution of Gutka and Mawa.

  • Anti-Smuggling: One individual involved in the supply of non-customs-paid items and betel nuts (Chalia) was arrested, with contraband worth millions of rupees recovered.

  • Other Offenses: The crackdown also resulted in the arrest of 2 gamblers, 4 proclaimed offenders (POs) and absconders, and 33 others involved in miscellaneous criminal activities.

The District City Police reaffirmed that these targeted operations will continue as part of a broader strategy to ensure the safety and security of Karachi’s citizens and to uphold the rule of law.
