District South Police Intensify Crackdown on Weapon Display, Fancy Number Plates, and Tinted Windows

KARACHI (HRNW): District South Police have launched a continuous and rigorous operation against the illegal display of weapons and the use of unregistered vehicles, fancy number plates, and tinted windows. As part of this campaign, the Darakhshan Police Station conducted a successful targeted action to enforce provincial security protocols.

Key Highlights of the Police Action

During the operation, police officials focused on high-traffic areas to curb violations of the law:

  • Arrests and Seizures: Two suspects involved in the open display of firearms were apprehended. Police recovered and seized the weapons found in their possession.

  • Impounded Vehicles: Two vehicles were taken into custody under Section 550 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) for multiple violations, including the use of fancy number plates, tinted glass, and the absence of official registration plates.

  • Legal Proceedings: Formal cases have been registered against the arrested individuals at the Darakhshan Police Station. Authorities confirmed that further legal proceedings are currently underway.

Public Safety Mandate

The District South Police reiterated that the display of weapons and the use of non-compliant vehicle plates or tinted windows are strictly prohibited under the current security directives. These operations are aimed at maintaining law and order, discouraging street crime, and ensuring the safety of citizens across the district.

Police officials have warned that the crackdown will remain active and no exceptions will be made for those violating the ban on “VIP culture” or display of arms.
