KARACHI (HRNW): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Jinnah International Airport Karachi and inspected immigration counters, reviewing the facilities available to passengers, the immigration process and waiting times.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi interacted directly with passengers and asked about difficulties they faced regarding the immigration procedure, waiting time and available facilities. After being informed of a technical fault in the immigration system, the Interior Minister immediately contacted the relevant authorities and directed them to resolve the issue.
Naqvi emphasized that an alternative system should always be available in case of a technical failure and that the immigration process must not be allowed to come to a standstill. He directed the authorities to take effective measures to prevent passengers from facing unnecessary delays and difficulties at airports.
The Interior Minister also ordered strict action against passengers attempting to travel on fake, incomplete or unverified travel documents. He made it clear that such passengers should not be allowed to travel and that negligence in the verification of travel documents would not be tolerated.
Later, Mohsin Naqvi visited the Passport Office Public Facilitation Centre Karachi, where he reviewed the facilities being provided to citizens for obtaining passports. He also interacted with citizens and sought direct feedback regarding the passport application process, waiting times and other available services.
