Anti-Terrorism Court Summons Former Justice Maqbool Baqir in 2013 Attack Case

Karachi (HRNW)- The special anti-terrorism court has summoned former Supreme Court Justice Maqbool Baqir to record his testimony in the case related to the 2013 attack on his convoy.

According to case details, the statements of the former judge and the investigating officer are yet to be recorded. During the hearing, jail authorities produced the accused persons — Masoom alias Bala, Yasir, and Muawiya, who are allegedly linked to a banned organization.

The case pertains to the June 2013 attack on Justice Maqbool Baqir’s convoy while he was on his way to the Sindh High Court. In the deadly assault, seven people, including his security personnel, were killed. The attacker also died in the incident, while Justice Maqbool Baqir and several others sustained serious injuries.
