Putin Orders Large-Scale Strikes on Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure

Bishkek (HRNW)- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Russian armed forces to prepare and conduct large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and energy facilities, according to Russian media reports.

Putin reportedly issued the instructions following the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek. He said the move was in response to attacks by Ukrainian forces on Russian civilian infrastructure and oil refineries.

The Russian president also responded to remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the possible closure of Russian airspace, amid continued tensions between the two countries.

The reported directive raises concerns over further escalation and potential impacts on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and civilian population.
