Lahore (HRNW)- The process of purchasing election material has begun in Punjab as preparations intensify for the upcoming local government elections.
According to sources, the decision was taken following a consultative meeting between the Election Commission and the Punjab government, after which the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab was authorized to purchase the required election material.
Sources said the Provincial Election Commissioner is expected to issue a tender for the procurement soon. The move is aimed at ensuring that election material is purchased on time and preventing delays in the electoral process.
The Punjab government has agreed to hold local government elections between December 15, 2026, and January 15, 2027. The Election Commission’s latest steps are intended to facilitate the timely conduct of the polls.
