Islamabad (HRNW) — Dr. Uzma Khan, along with Noreen Khan and Dr. Faisal Sultan, addressed a press conference and shared details regarding PTI founder Imran Khan’s transfer to PIMS Hospital and his health condition.
According to Dr. Uzma Khan, she and Dr. Faisal Sultan were called to Adiala Jail at around 8:30 p.m. She said that at approximately 12:40 a.m., Dr. Faisal was taken separately, while she was taken away in a police vehicle about 10 to 15 minutes later.
Dr. Uzma said she was initially informed that Imran Khan would be taken to Shifa International Hospital, but was later told that he had been taken to PIMS Hospital instead.
She claimed that during her meeting with Imran Khan, he raised concerns about alleged solitary confinement, mental stress and access to medical facilities. According to her, Imran Khan said he had been kept in solitary confinement for approximately 10 months, with limited access to television and reading material, and that his concerns were not being heard.
Dr. Uzma said Imran Khan’s blood pressure was checked at PIMS and he was also administered an eye injection. According to the doctors, his blood pressure issue could be linked to anxiety, while they also recommended ending his solitary confinement.
She further said Imran Khan had repeatedly felt reassured upon hearing that he would be transferred to Shifa International Hospital, but was ultimately not taken there.
Dr. Faisal Sultan also stated that he was present at Shifa International Hospital while Imran Khan was taken to PIMS, according to the statements made during the press conference.
