PTI Accuses Government of Violating Supreme Court Order on Imran Khan’s Hospital Transfer

Islamabad (HRNW) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram has accused the government of violating the Supreme Court’s order regarding the medical treatment and hospital transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Responding to Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar’s statement, Sheikh Waqas Akram alleged that blaming PTI workers for security concerns was an old government tactic to conceal what he described as non-compliance with the court’s directives.

He said the Supreme Court’s order was clear that Imran Khan was to be transferred to Shifa International Hospital. According to him, the court had also directed the formation of a complete medical board, including Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan.

Sheikh Waqas Akram alleged that the government itself had acknowledged that Imran Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital instead of Shifa International Hospital, which he termed an open violation of the Supreme Court’s order.

He said PTI had already instructed its workers not to gather outside Shifa International Hospital, emphasizing that Imran Khan’s health was the party’s foremost concern.

The PTI leader questioned the circumstances surrounding the alleged late-night transfer and said that blaming party workers for security problems after a secret transfer was inconsistent with the government’s own narrative.

He further alleged that the government had already filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s order and had refused to transfer Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital.

According to Sheikh Waqas Akram, sending Dr. Faisal Sultan separately to Shifa International Hospital while taking Imran Khan to PIMS did not constitute implementation of the court order but amounted to misleading the public.

He also rejected claims that Imran Khan had always received complete medical facilities, referring to what he described as years of solitary confinement and health concerns involving his eyes and blood pressure.

The PTI leader demanded that the government make Imran Khan’s complete medical reports public and implement the Supreme Court’s order in letter and spirit.

“Imran Khan’s health is not political propaganda but a fundamental human right,” Sheikh Waqas Akram said, calling on the government to ensure compliance with the court order instead of engaging in what he described as political theatrics.
