Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Reviews Phase II of Safe City Project, Sets May 30 Deadline

Islamabad (HRNW)- Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Safe City Headquarters in Islamabad and chaired a special meeting to review the progress of Phase II of the Islamabad Safe City Project.

During the meeting, it was decided that all ongoing work on Phase II will be completed by May 30. The Interior Minister directed officials to ensure the timely completion of the project. He emphasized that the Central Command and Control System will be upgraded, integrating policing, traffic, and civic amenities systems, and establishing a modern crime control and traffic management system in the capital.

The meeting also approved the new design of the Safe City Headquarters. IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi briefed the Interior Minister, reporting that 75% of Phase II work has been completed. Installation of modern cameras and monitoring systems is underway, and a 152-kilometer fiber optics cable has been laid, with testing scheduled to begin after Phase II completion by May 20.

The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Home Khurram Agha, DG FIA Dr. Usman Anwar, DG Safe City Haroon Joya, and other senior officials.
