Lahore (HRNW)- More than 101 international flights have been canceled from eight major airports across Pakistan, including Allama Iqbal International Airport, following a sudden escalation in the Middle East conflict.
The worsening situation has led both domestic and international airlines to advise passengers to confirm flight details before arriving at airports. Hundreds of travelers from cities including Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sialkot faced inconvenience and were forced to return home.
The operation of special flights to the United Arab Emirates has once again been suspended. In the past 18 days, approximately 2,000 flights have been canceled from airports nationwide due to ongoing regional instability.
According to aviation sources, 64 two-way flights to various Middle Eastern destinations were canceled today alone. These include 20 flights from Karachi to destinations such as Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq; 10 flights from Islamabad to Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Muscat; 16 flights from Lahore to Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi; and 10 flights from Peshawar to Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
Additionally, eight flights from Sialkot to Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, and Bahrain were also canceled, while flight operations to the Middle East from Multan and Faisalabad airports remain normal.
The disruption highlights the growing impact of regional tensions on global and domestic air travel.
