Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Urges UN to Act Against Rising Islamophobia

Lahore (HRNW)- Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that an increasing attitude of hatred and prejudice against Muslims is being witnessed around the world and called on the United Nations to play an effective role in combating Islamophobia.

In his message on the International Day for the Prevention of Islamophobia, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stated that Muslims in many parts of the world are facing oppression and violence in the name of Islamophobia, adding that hatred directed toward Muslims is unjustified and harmful to global peace.

He emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and security where the rights of minorities are clearly defined and protected. He further said that minorities in Pakistan are living their lives with dignity and respect, without fear or threat.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman urged the international community to take practical steps to eliminate prejudice and promote mutual respect among different religions and cultures.
