Iran Condemns Drone Attack on Kurdistan PM’s Office, Warns of “False Flag” Operations

Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has condemned a drone attack targeting the office of the prime minister of Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region, warning Kurdish authorities and residents to remain alert to possible “false flag” operations.

In a statement on X, Araqchi described the attack as a reckless act and cautioned against attempts to create divisions and chaos among neighboring countries and communities.

The Iranian foreign minister said Tehran had supported the Kurdish people in the past against Saddam Hussein’s regime and ISIS and expressed appreciation for Kurdistan’s role in maintaining security along Iran’s border.

The Kurdistan Regional Government reported that two drones targeted the prime minister’s office. Officials said there were no casualties in the incident.

Iran has not directly blamed any party for the attack but has instead highlighted the possibility that the incident could be part of an effort to create tensions and instability in the region.
