Beirut (HRNW): Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has stated that the continued Israeli presence in southern Lebanon remains a major obstacle to the implementation of the Washington Agreement.
In a public statement, President Joseph Aoun said that the deployment of the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon is being hindered by the presence of Israeli forces. He added that the continued presence of Israeli troops in the area undermines the achievement of shared objectives aimed at maintaining regional stability.
The Lebanese president further stressed that there is no room for civil conflict within Lebanon and emphasized the importance of preserving national unity amid ongoing regional tensions.
He also stated that four people were killed in the latest Israeli strikes, highlighting the continuing security challenges facing the country.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border and ongoing international efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.
