Anti-Terrorism Court Postpones Verdict in Chakra Goth Tragedy Case

Karachi (HRNW)- The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has postponed its verdict in the Chakra Goth tragedy case after the contract of the special court judge came to an end.

According to reports, the verdict could not be announced as scheduled due to the judge’s tenure ending before the decision was delivered.

Police said the case was registered at Zaman Town Police Station against Raees Mama, Imran, Inam-ul-Haq, and Raheel Lodhi, who were accused of opening fire on a Reserve Police vehicle during the 2011 incident.

According to the prosecution, the attack resulted in the deaths of three Reserve Police personnel, while 27 others were injured. The case was registered in 2011 following the incident.

Police further stated that Imran and Inam-ul-Haq were arrested in 2011, Raheel Lodhi was taken into custody in 2015, and Raees Mama was arrested at Karachi Airport in 2018.

The court is expected to fix a new date for the announcement of the verdict after the matter is reassigned.
