Peshawar (HRNW)- Rescue teams responded to two separate water-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recovering the body of a tourist after a three-day search operation in Kumrat while continuing efforts to locate a man who went missing in the Swat River.
According to Rescue 1122, the body of a tourist who drowned at the Kala Chashma tourist spot in Kumrat, Lower Dir, was recovered after three days of continuous search efforts by the joint water rescue teams of Rescue 1122 Lower Dir and Rescue 1122 Upper Dir.
Rescue officials said divers reached the site immediately after receiving the emergency call and continued the operation despite the river’s strong current, deep water, and difficult terrain. After recovery, the body was handed over to the police for legal formalities.
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson urged citizens and tourists to exercise extreme caution near rivers, lakes, and other water bodies, advising them to avoid bathing or entering deep and fast-flowing water at tourist destinations.
In a separate incident in the Fizagat area of Swat, a father and his 11-year-old son drowned while bathing in the Swat River. Local residents managed to rescue the child safely, while Rescue 1122 has launched a search operation to locate the missing father.
According to rescue officials, the father and son are residents of Buner district.
