Karachi (HRNW)- Water shortage has become a serious issue in Lyari during Muharram-ul-Haram, causing significant difficulties for local residents. Water supply in several neighborhoods has either been completely suspended or reduced to very limited levels for the past several days, disrupting daily life.
According to residents, the shortage has adversely affected essential activities including ablution, purification, household chores, and arrangements related to religious gatherings and funerals. Citizens say that the lack of basic water facilities during the sacred days of Muharram reflects administrative negligence.
Residents further stated that many families are being forced to purchase water at high prices, placing an additional burden on low-income households already struggling with rising expenses.
The people of Lyari have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action and restore regular water supply to the area to prevent further hardship during Muharram-ul-Haram.
