Beijing (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held an important meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where they discussed bilateral relations, global stability, and trade cooperation.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed President Trump and his delegation, expressing pleasure at the visit. He said that stable China–US relations are not only important for both countries but also have positive significance for global peace and stability.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China and the United States are two major global powers and should work together to promote international peace and stability.

According to a statement issued by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Xi Jinping also highlighted that the Taiwan issue remains the most sensitive matter in China–US relations. He warned that any missteps on Taiwan could lead to confrontation or even direct conflict between the two countries, pushing bilateral relations into a dangerous phase.

The ministry further said that both leaders discussed major international issues, including the Middle East conflict, the Ukraine war, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

President Trump thanked China for the warm reception and described Xi Jinping as a great leader, stating that his personal relationship with the Chinese President has remained strong over time.
