Obama Criticizes Trump’s Iran Policy, Says Diplomacy Previously Prevented War

Washington (HRNW)- Former US President Barack Obama has criticized current US President Donald Trump’s Iran policy, saying that diplomatic engagement during his tenure helped resolve tensions without military action, while current policies have contributed to increased regional instability.

In a recent interview, Obama stated that his administration had significantly limited Iran’s enriched uranium program through negotiations, arguing that these objectives were achieved without war or large-scale military conflict. He added that during that period, there was no major bloodshed and the region, including key maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, did not face the level of tension seen today.

Obama further suggested that despite a harder approach adopted under the Trump administration, the intended outcomes regarding Iran had not been achieved, while tensions in the Middle East have instead escalated.
