Islamabad (HRNW)- The Islamabad High Court has issued a written order lifting the stay on recruitment in federal institutions, including the police. A larger bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, and Justice Inam Amin Minhas withdrew the stay order that had been in place since August 1, 2024. The court directed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to initiate a new recruitment process in line with the existing policy. During the proceedings, the Advocate General Islamabad raised objections regarding the admissibility of the petition, while petitioner Barrister Yawar Gardezi sought additional time for arguments. The Advocate General also highlighted that the suspension of police recruitment had led to security concerns. The court further ordered that candidates who became overage due to the delay should be allowed to participate in the new recruitment process, with all appointments subject to the final outcome of the case.
