Karachi: Garden Police Clash with Interprovincial Robber Gang, Two Suspects Arrested Injured

Karachi (HRNW) — A police encounter took place in Karachi’s Garden area between law enforcement and an interprovincial robber gang, resulting in the arrest of two suspects in injured condition. According to police, the encounter occurred near the Karachi Zoo within the jurisdiction of Garden Police Station.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Muhammad Saleem alias Watto and Muhammad Asif alias Mitho, who are said to be accomplices of those arrested two days ago in a similar encounter with Garden Police.

The suspects opened fire on the police, who retaliated in self-defense. After an exchange of gunfire, both suspects were injured and apprehended. Police recovered two pistols with rounds and a motorcycle from their possession.

According to police officials, the suspects were involved in numerous robberies targeting citizens leaving banks after withdrawing cash. The gang has been operating across various cities in Punjab and Sindh and is wanted in several criminal cases.

Police said the injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while further legal action is being taken against them.
