12 Suspects Presented in Court Over Ponzi Scheme and Online Fraud

 

Karachi (HRNW) — The Eastern Judicial Magistrate’s Court heard a case involving a Ponzi scheme and online fraud targeting citizens, with 12 suspects presented by jail authorities.

Among the accused, seven are Chinese nationals, while two other Chinese suspects remain at large. The court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the two absconding suspects.

The hearing has been adjourned until January 29, with the court requesting a detailed report on the case.

According to the prosecution, the suspects were charged under cybercrime laws. The court has denied bail to the apprehended suspects.

Investigations revealed that the accused were operating fake investment schemes via social media, defrauding multiple citizens and causing significant financial loss.
