Mayor Murtaza Wahab Orders Action Against Illegal Banners, Announces New Vigilance Squad

Karachi (HRNW)- Murtaza Wahab has said that action is being taken against shopkeepers who put up banners saying “Give Karachi its rights” in the city and they are being considered for sealing.

Addressing a function, the Mayor of Karachi said that just putting up banners will not solve the city’s problems. He criticized the Jamaat-e-Islami and termed this approach ineffective.

He announced that 20 electric motorcycles will be provided for the vigilance squad in the Karachi Metropolitan Municipality to improve the protection of infrastructure and monitoring of illegal activities in the city.

According to Murtaza Wahab, wardens are being removed from protocol duty and made part of the vigilance squad, which will take action against elements involved in wall chalking, illegal banners, theft of street lights and damage to infrastructure in the city.

He said that strict action will also be taken against those who consume drugs under bridges and in other places, while cleanliness and law enforcement will be ensured in the city.
