Tehran (HRNW)- The Iranian government has stated that it will not leave the Strait of Hormuz “free” until its rights are fully recognized, amid escalating regional tensions.
According to media reports, Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said that Iran will not allow the Strait of Hormuz to remain open in its current form until its demands are met.
He added that the United States fears a prolonged conflict, while Iran is prepared for a long war and has extensive experience in such conditions.
Rezaei further stated that, although he follows the decisions of the country’s leadership, in his personal view Iran should not agree to extend the existing two-week ceasefire with the United States.
