Major Customs Operation at Karachi Airport: 102 High-Value Processors Recovered from Passenger

KARACHI (HRNW) – Pakistan Customs officials at Jinnah International Airport successfully foiled a smuggling attempt, recovering high-value computer processors worth millions of rupees from a passenger arriving from Dubai. The suspect attempted to bypass security via the Green Channel before being apprehended following a brief chase.

Incident Details and Attempted Escape

According to Customs authorities, a passenger arriving on a flight from Dubai raised suspicion while attempting to exit through the Green Channel to avoid declaration.

  • The Pursuit: When Customs staff signaled the individual to stop for inspection, the passenger attempted to flee toward the exit gate of the International Arrival Hall.

  • The Apprehension: Demonstrating high alertness, Customs officers pursued and intercepted the suspect just outside the hall before he could escape the airport premises.

Recovery and Market Value

Upon conducting a thorough physical search, officials discovered 102 premium computer processors concealed on the passenger’s body.

  • Estimated Value: The seized electronics are valued at over 7 million PKR (70 Lakhs) in the local market.

  • Legal Action: The recovered goods have been confiscated under the Customs Act, and the suspect has been taken into custody for further investigation.
