Islamabad/Rawalpindi (HRNW)- Heavy and intermittent rains continue in the twin cities, causing the water level in Nala Lai to rise rapidly. According to Rescue 1122, the water level reached 16 feet at Katarian, prompting an alert, while a pre-alert has been issued in Gowalmandi after the level reached 10 feet.
Rainfall of up to 57 mm was recorded in parts of Islamabad, while Rawalpindi also received significant rainfall. Rescue 1122 has deployed water rescue teams, ambulances, boats, fire vehicles and other equipment at sensitive locations and is continuously monitoring the situation.
Citizens have been advised to avoid crossing drains and streams, keep children away from waterways and electric poles, avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while driving during rainfall. Rescue 1122 has urged citizens to immediately call 1122 in case of an emergency.
