Islamabad (HRNW)- Pakistan has lodged a formal and strong protest with the Afghan Taliban authorities following the recent attack on a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi, the Foreign Office said.
According to the Foreign Office, the Afghan Charge d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a strong demarche was delivered regarding the Karachi attack.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Obaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, also conveyed a similar protest to officials at Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry. The demarche was issued following reports that Afghan nationals were allegedly involved in the Karachi attack, including one suspect who was reportedly arrested alive.
According to the Foreign Office, the incident has reinforced Pakistan’s concerns that Afghan territory and Afghan nationals are allegedly being used by militant groups to plan and carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
The spokesperson said Pakistan has urged the Afghan authorities to take effective action on the matter and address Pakistan’s security concerns with seriousness.
