Tehran (HRNW)- Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have claimed that there are currently no US warships in the Persian Gulf, saying the US naval presence in the region has ended following the recent war involving Iran.
According to foreign media reports, Revolutionary Guards spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said in a statement that between 30 and 40 US warships had been present in the Persian Gulf during the war against Iran.
He further claimed that during the Iran-Iraq War, the United States had deployed more than 100 warships in the region.
However, the Iranian spokesman did not provide specific details regarding the current status of US naval vessels in the Persian Gulf or independently verify whether all US warships had withdrawn from the region.
The claims come amid heightened regional tensions and continued international attention on US military deployments and maritime security in the Gulf.
