Islamabad (HRNW)- According to the spokesperson of OGDCL, a significant increase in oil and gas production in the country has been recorded on a weekly basis.
In the first three months of this year, 3,010 barrels per day of oil and 32 mmscfd of gas have been added. 1,090 barrels per day of oil and 2.5 mmscfd of gas were obtained from newly discovered wells.
The spokesperson said that the use of modern technology made it possible to increase the production of 670 barrels per day of oil and 1.25 mmscfd of gas, after which the total production capacity of OGDCL has reached 37 thousand barrels per day.
The statement further said that the target has been set to increase oil production to 40 thousand barrels per day by June 2026, and the use of modern technology is continuing to achieve higher production from old fields.
This initiative is part of efforts to meet the country’s energy needs and increase self-sufficiency in the energy sector.
