Iran Affirms Friendly Ties with Pakistan, Warns Against US and Israeli Claims Amid Strait of Hormuz Tensions

Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai has reaffirmed that Iran’s relations with Pakistan remain friendly, describing Islamabad’s intentions as positive and benevolent. However, he warned that statements regarding negotiations by the US and Israel are not credible.

Baghai noted that the Iranian Foreign Minister is in constant contact with regional counterparts, especially neighboring countries, and acknowledged efforts by various states, including Pakistan, to reduce tensions. While multiple offers of mediation between Iran and the US have been received, Tehran emphasizes that it will maintain its right to self-defense and does not trust American or Israeli claims.

He reiterated Iran’s commitment to policies in the Strait of Hormuz, with special regulations currently in place for safe passage. The spokesman warned that any attack on Iran’s critical infrastructure would elicit an immediate and effective military response, noting that retaliatory actions against American and Israeli targets have already been carried out.

Meanwhile, foreign media reports indicate uncertainty regarding whether Iran is actively collecting fees from ships passing through the Strait, though proposals on this matter are being considered in the Iranian parliament.
