Islamabad (HRNW)- US Vice President JD Vance met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which bilateral relations, the regional situation and important regional issues were discussed in detail.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the US delegation included Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were also present on behalf of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the ongoing constructive talks between the US and Iranian delegations and expressed hope that these talks would prove to be an important step towards establishing lasting peace in the region.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is committed to playing its role for lasting peace in the region and will continue to facilitate efforts between the two sides.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his address to the nation, had termed these talks as very important and said that this process could prove helpful in leading the region towards stability.
The eyes of the media around the world are also focused on the negotiations during these diplomatic activities in Islamabad.
According to reports, the Iranian delegation led by Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Islamabad, while US Vice President JD Vance is also present in the capital.
