Washington Orders Voluntary Departure of US Embassy Staff from Israel Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Washington (HRNW)- US embassy staff stationed in Israel have been instructed that they may leave the country today if they wish, amid growing regional security concerns.

According to international media reports, the instruction was issued by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee through an email sent to embassy personnel.

The The New York Times reported that the ambassador informed staff that non-essential government employees and their family members were permitted to voluntarily depart Israel. Due to this arrangement, flight seats from Ben Gurion Airport may be limited, and staff were advised to secure available flights as soon as possible.

In the email, the ambassador emphasized that there was no need for panic but encouraged those planning to leave to arrange travel immediately.

Analysts believe the voluntary evacuation of diplomatic staff could signal potential deterioration in regional security conditions.

The directive comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns about possible security threats. Earlier, the US State Department issued a travel advisory allowing non-emergency US personnel and their families to leave Israel.

Reports suggest that the United States has also increased military readiness in the region to protect diplomatic missions and personnel.
