Karachi (HRNW) — Police arrested 33 suspects following an alleged assault on police and civil administration officials during an anti-encroachment operation in Karachi.
According to police, two cases have been registered in connection with the incident. The charges include rioting, attempted murder, police encounter-related offences, interference in government duties, Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other relevant provisions.
Police said government personnel allegedly faced resistance and violence during the anti-encroachment operation, following which Samanabad Police launched action and arrested several individuals.
Legal proceedings against the arrested suspects are underway, while further investigation into the incident continues.
