Karachi (HRNW): An Edhi Foundation centre in Sohrab Goth was reportedly raided by armed robbers, who allegedly escaped with Rs. 6.5 million in cash.
According to Edhi officials, more than four armed suspects were involved in the incident and allegedly subjected Edhi volunteers to physical violence during the robbery.
The officials said the stolen money had been kept at the centre for the payment of employees’ salaries. The Edhi staff had reportedly withdrawn the money from a bank shortly before the incident.
Edhi officials further alleged that the robbery appeared to have been carried out following detailed surveillance, as the suspects allegedly knew that the staff was carrying a large amount of cash.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, while efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspects.
