Islamabad (HRNW)- An American newspaper has reported that Pakistan has undertaken intensive diplomatic efforts to promote peace amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, with telephone diplomacy playing a central role. According to the report, Pakistani leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir, have been in continuous contact with world leaders from Tehran, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Istanbul, and Brussels to reduce tensions and explore possible negotiations.
The report noted that Pakistan’s close ties with both US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga have strengthened its position as an effective mediator. German Foreign Minister Johannes Waddeweihl has also confirmed that indirect contacts between the US and Iran are underway, with preparations for a direct meeting—potentially in Pakistan—now in progress.
Experts say Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy reflects its growing regional influence and global trust, and successful efforts could mark a significant breakthrough in resolving the conflict.
