Islamabad (HRNW): The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have issued a joint statement condemning ongoing Israeli operations and alleged violations in the Gaza Strip.
The joint statement said that the continuation of alleged violations in Gaza constitutes a clear breach of Israel’s obligations under international law and undermines the comprehensive plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict. It added that such actions are also damaging ongoing international and regional efforts to implement the second phase of the peace plan.
According to the statement, following an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump, Palestinian factions accepted the proposed roadmap. However, the latest developments risk undermining the political process, triggering a new escalation, and further worsening the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The eight countries said that the killing of civilians, including women and children, constitutes a serious violation of international law. They called for immediate, safe, and unhindered humanitarian assistance to Gaza and stressed that medical facilities, healthcare workers, and humanitarian personnel must be protected under all circumstances.
The joint statement also called on the United Nations Security Council to ensure Israel’s compliance with international law and to hold it accountable for alleged serious violations.
The countries rejected any attempts to annex occupied Palestinian territories or forcibly displace local populations. They reiterated their position that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the fundamental path toward lasting peace in the region.
