Iran and US Agree to Form Joint Working Groups After Technical Talks in Switzerland

Bern (HRNW)- Technical talks between Iran and the United States have concluded in Switzerland, with both sides agreeing to establish joint working groups to advance future negotiations on key issues.

According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that the two sides agreed during the discussions to form four separate working groups aimed at making progress on major outstanding matters.

He explained that the first group will focus on the lifting of economic sanctions, the second on nuclear-related issues, the third on reconstruction and economic development, while the fourth group will oversee the implementation and monitoring of any potential agreement between the two countries.

Officials say the formation of these working groups is intended to create a structured framework for continued dialogue and to help narrow differences in future rounds of negotiations. Analysts view the development as a step toward more organized diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington, although significant challenges remain.
