A new chapter has been written in the atmosphere of New York today — a chapter that is not just politics, but a Victory of  Faith, Hard Work and Hope.

Yes — “Zohran Mamdani” — the young Muslim, who has now been elected the new mayor of New York City.

This is the same city that has embraced immigrants for centuries — and now an “Muslim immigrant” has become its mayor!

After Zohran Mamdani became the mayor of New York, the quest to know about him has become more intense among people. One of Mamdani’s great identities is his Indian-origin mother, whom millions of moviegoers know very well.

Let us tell you Who Zohran Mamdani

Zohran Mamdani does not belong to a wealthy political family, but to a home where “Knowledge, Art and Humanity” were the greatest wealth.

He was born in Kampala, Uganda, and moved to New York with his parents when he was just seven years old. His father is Professor Mahmud Mamdani — a renowned Ugandan scholar, an expert in the social history of Africa and Asia. And his mother is Mira Nair — a filmmaker who has shown the world the culture, emotions and human stories of India through films like “Salaam Bombay” and “Monsoon Wedding.” It seems as if both science and art run in Zohran’s veins. Zohran received his education from Bowdoin College (USA). Here he studied politics, sociology and social justice. During his college days, he became active in the cause of Human Rights, Anti-racism and the rights of immigrants. He always says — “I learned to listen to stories from my mother and to understand justice from my father.” Zohran started his politics in the “New York State Assembly”, where he did an unparalleled job on public service, housing issues, and the rights of the working class.

Then gradually his recognition grew. People said — “This is not a politician, he is a son of the people.” He made the voice of the common people his strength instead of the advertisements of big capitalists. This same sincerity, this same truth, brought him the mayor of New York today.

When the results were announced, the hall echoed with joy. Zohran Mamdani won with 56% of the vote. He is not only the youngest mayor of New York — but also “The First of South Asian Heritage” and “The First Mayor Born In Africa”.

It was a moment in history when New York’s Muslim, Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani citizens spoke in one voice — “We are all Zohrans!”

When Zohran Mamdani gave his victory speech — it was not politics, but “A voice from the depths of the soul”.

He said: “I belong to a religion that teaches justice, love, and equality. I am a proud Muslim, and I promise that every citizen of New York will feel safe, respected, and equal.” The entire hall stood, the young people chanted “Unity and Justice for All.” This was the moment when not just one person, but an entire community had won.

Zohran Mamdani said: “This city does not belong to the rich or the powerful — it belongs to everyone. Whether you are Muslim or Jewish, black or white, we are all one — New Yorkers!”

His words were not just a speech, but a “PROMISE” — a promise of justice, peace, and equality. And finally, addressing US President Trump, who has been considered his staunch opponent from the beginning, Mamdani said, “Trump, listen, New York is and will remain a city of immigrants.”

Zohran Mamdani thanked the people of New York and said, “We have made history in New York. The people have proven that power is in their hands. We have ended hereditary politics in New York.” Zohran Mamdani’s victory teaches us that if the intention is clear, the faith is strong, and the spirit of service is in the heart, then no city in the world, no dream, is far from you. This is not just New York’s victory—it is the victory of the entire nation.

Zohran Mamdani —is not a name, it is a promise. That faith and justice can go together, and when they go together, history changes.”
