ISLAMABAD (HRNW)- The National Assembly of Pakistan has unanimously approved a resolution congratulating the United States and Iran on their efforts to reach a peace agreement and acknowledging Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and diplomacy.
During the National Assembly session, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar sought permission from the House to present the resolution. After receiving approval, he read the resolution, which was unanimously adopted by the members.
According to the text of the resolution, the National Assembly expressed satisfaction and pride over what it described as a historic diplomatic achievement in the form of a framework agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran aimed at ending confrontation and promoting peace and stability.
The resolution noted that the conflict had negatively affected regional peace, economic stability, and global energy security, making efforts toward a peaceful resolution particularly significant.
The House paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and all individuals involved in the diplomatic process. The resolution stated that their efforts had helped strengthen Pakistan’s reputation as a trusted and impartial mediator on the international stage.
The National Assembly also congratulated the leadership of both Iran and the United States, appreciating what it described as their constructive leadership and willingness to pursue dialogue, which led to the successful completion of negotiations and the signing of the peace framework.
According to the resolution, the agreement represents an important step toward strengthening peace, stability, and mutual cooperation not only in the region but also at the global level.
Members of the House expressed hope that the diplomatic progress would contribute to lasting regional stability, improved international relations, and enhanced economic cooperation among nations.
