Makkah (HRNW): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with a high-level Pakistani delegation, have performed Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Following the Umrah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other members of the delegation offered special prayers for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, national security, unity of the Muslim Ummah, and peace and stability in the Muslim world and across the globe.
Before performing Umrah, the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and other members of the delegation were also granted the honour of a special visit to the Holy Kaaba, where they offered prayers and spent time in worship.
The Pakistani delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and other senior officials. The delegation also offered prayers at the holy sites for Pakistan’s national security, economic stability, and the welfare of its people.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia with the high-level delegation and received a warm welcome. The visit is being regarded as significant not only for its religious importance but also from a diplomatic and economic perspective.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman during his visit. The meeting is expected to cover bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, investment, trade, defence cooperation, energy, the regional situation, and other matters of mutual interest.
According to sources, the two leaders are also expected to discuss ongoing Saudi investment projects in Pakistan, ways to strengthen economic cooperation, and issues related to peace and stability in the region.
