Karachi (HRNW): The Anti-Corruption Establishment has intensified its investigation into alleged corruption involving officials of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) by seeking official records related to multiple officers.
According to anti-corruption authorities, the ongoing inquiry concerns allegations of large-scale corruption, illegal construction, and the issuance of fake No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Several officials, including Assistant Director Asif Sheikh, Assistant Director Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Senior Building Inspector Shahid, and others, are reportedly under investigation.
Investigators have also sought records relating to the alleged illegal commercialization of residential plots.
Official notices have been issued to the Director East, Record Section, Town Planning Department, and Single Window Department, directing them to provide the required documents.
The authorities have instructed the concerned officials to appear before the Anti-Corruption Establishment within three days. According to investigators, the officials have not yet appeared before the inquiry team.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment has requested comprehensive records, including building approvals, NOCs, inspection reports, official files, completion certificates, and occupancy certificates, to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
