KARACHI (HRNW): Following the directives of DIG East Zone Dr. Farrukh Ali, targeted operations have been launched across the East and Malir districts to curb criminal activities. Under the supervision of SDPO Jamshed Division, ASP Ashar, police teams conducted raids resulting in the arrest of several suspects involved in gambling and the sale of hazardous Gutka/Mawa.
Details of the Operations

Malir City Police Station: Police arrested two suspects, Sheroz and Ghulam Hussain. Authorities recovered 1 kg of prepared betel nut and 24,600 PKR in cash from Sheroz, while 1,250 grams of betel nut and 1,500 PKR were seized from Ghulam Hussain. A formal case (FIR 308/2026) has been registered.

Sharafi Goth Police Station: Suspect Muhammad Kashif was apprehended with several packets of Gutka Mawa and 9,000 PKR in sales proceeds. A case has been registered under the Gutka Mawa Act.

Jamshed Quarters Police Station: A dealer identified as Allah Dino was arrested with 100 packets of hazardous Gutka Mawa. Legal proceedings have been initiated under the GMA 2019 Act.

Soldier Bazar Police Station: In a successful raid on a gambling den, six suspects—Muhammad Salman, Shahid, Ayaz, Ali Akbar, Muhammad Ashraf, and Rasool Bakhsh—were arrested. Police recovered 8,530 PKR in cash and 5 mobile phones. A case has been registered under the Gambling Act.
