Islamabad (HRNW): The Supreme Court of Pakistan has sought reports from the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and other relevant parties while hearing a case involving allegations of an attempted leak of an FPSC examination paper.
During the proceedings, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar expressed surprise over the contents of the case record and observed that the matter was of a serious nature.
“The issue of an exam paper leak is extremely serious and requires careful scrutiny,” Justice Mazhar remarked, adding that the Court would reach a decision only after all relevant facts and reports had been presented.
The Court directed that the matter be listed before the Supreme Court’s Principal Seat for further hearing. It also ordered that the inquiry report concerning the petitioner be submitted before the Court.
Counsel for the petitioner, Malik Naeem Iqbal Advocate, argued that the FPSC itself had not accused the petitioner of leaking the examination paper. However, he stated that the criminal case alleged that the petitioner had attempted to leak the paper.
According to the petitioner’s counsel, Khalid Hussain, a Grade-17 government officer, was serving in Quetta, while the criminal case against him was registered in Lahore.
