Karachi: Attempt to Supply Gutka and Chalia Foiled, Two Arrested

Karachi (HRNW): The District East Police have foiled an attempt to supply chalia (areca nut) used in gutka and ready-made hazardous gutka mawa.

According to police, officers from Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station conducted an operation near Nipa Chowrangi, Block 6, and arrested two suspects involved in the illegal supply network.

Police recovered five sacks of chalia and prepared gutka mawa from the suspects’ vehicle bearing registration number BXX-188.

The vehicle used for transportation was also taken into police custody in accordance with legal procedures.

A case has been registered against the arrested individuals, and further investigation is underway.

The suspects have been identified as Abdul Rehman son of Bismillah and Muhammad Maroof son of Muhammad Usman.
