Dust Storms, Thunderstorms and Rain Expected Across Punjab Until June 20, PDMA Issues Alert

LAHORE (HRNW)- A weather system bringing dusty winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall has become active across Punjab, including Lahore, with light to heavy rain expected in various parts of the province until June 20.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, weather conditions in Lahore are expected to remain partly cloudy with intervals of sunshine and rain. The minimum temperature in the provincial capital is likely to remain around 27°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 39°C.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a province-wide alert for thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hailstorms. Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures and stay informed about changing weather conditions.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, rainfall is expected in several districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Wazirabad.

Officials have warned that strong winds and hailstorms may cause disruptions to traffic, power supply, and outdoor activities in some areas. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and to remain cautious around weak structures, trees, and electricity poles.

The weather system is expected to provide some relief from the ongoing heat but may also lead to localized urban flooding and weather-related disruptions in vulnerable areas.
