Tehran Rocked by Massive Explosions: U.S. Claims Destruction of IRGC Headquarters

TEHRAN (HRNW): The Iranian capital was rocked by a series of powerful explosions late Monday night, sending panicked residents into the streets as the night sky lit up with fire and smoke. Witnesses reported hearing rhythmic chants of “Allahu Akbar” echoing from mosques and residential blocks following the strikes. These blasts mark a significant escalation as the joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign, reportedly dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” enters its third consecutive day of high-intensity strikes against the Islamic Republic.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued an official statement via X (formerly Twitter), claiming that coalition forces have successfully neutralized over 1,000 targets across Iran. According to CENTCOM, the primary objective of the latest wave was the total destruction of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Central Headquarters in Tehran. The statement further detailed that the IRGC Aerospace Forces Headquarters was also a major target and has been rendered non-functional. Additionally, the aerial campaign focused on dismantling Iranian ballistic missile sites, underground silos, and naval assets, including several high-value Iranian Navy vessels and command centers along the coast.

While communication networks within Tehran remain severely disrupted, local reports suggest that several key government installations have been reduced to rubble. The White House has indicated that these “heavy and pinpoint” operations will continue until Iran’s offensive military capabilities are fully degraded. In response, unconfirmed reports suggest Iran has attempted to launch retaliatory missile strikes against U.S. bases in the region and Israeli territories. As the situation remains fluid, diplomatic missions have urged all foreign nationals to stay indoors and avoid all movement within the capital.
