Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Secure Pre-Arrest Bail in Seven Multiple Cases

RAWALPINDI (HRNW): In a major legal development, an Islamabad District and Sessions Court on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, approved the pre-arrest bail applications for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in six cases and for his wife, Bushra Bibi, in one case. Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the hearings, granting relief to both against surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each for every case.

The bail orders cover a range of high-profile charges, including the alleged submission of fake Toshakhana receipts and several cases related to the May 9 incidents. Specifically, the court granted Imran Khan bail in cases registered at the Karachi Company and Kohsar police stations, which include allegations of vandalism, arson, and two separate cases linked to the PTI “Azadi March” protests. Additionally, bail was approved in the case involving the alleged attempted murder and assault of PML-N leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, as well as a case regarding accusations made against senior officials.

Legal experts view these decisions as a significant breakthrough for the former Prime Minister and the former First Lady, especially following their legal team’s arguments that the delay in deciding these applications was unprecedented. During the proceedings, the court noted that the prosecution had not recovered the allegedly fake receipts nor sent them for forensic examination. While this provides immediate relief against arrest in these specific matters, the cases will now proceed to hearings on their individual merits.
