Karachi (HRNW)- Flight operations from Pakistan to several Middle Eastern destinations were significantly disrupted after the airspace of many countries remained closed due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, leading to the cancellation of 88 flights across the country today.
According to aviation sources, only 57 flights were able to operate for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, while 27 flights from Karachi to Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Dammam were cancelled due to the uncertain situation.
The impact was felt across multiple cities, with 16 flights cancelled from Lahore, 22 from Islamabad, 10 from Peshawar, 7 from Multan, 4 from Faisalabad, and 2 from Sialkot.
On Saturday, a total of 42 flights to the Middle East were operated from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, and Faisalabad despite the challenging conditions.
In one incident, flight G9559 from Multan to Sharjah departed as scheduled but was forced to return to Multan after reports of an explosion at Dubai Airport. The flight later departed again after the situation returned to normal.
