Tehran (HRNW): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that, under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, ensuring a ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon, is the responsibility of the United States.
According to Iranian media, Araghchi held a telephone conversation with the French Foreign Minister, during which they discussed regional developments, ceasefire efforts, and diplomatic progress.
Araghchi emphasized that implementation of the memorandum requires strong international backing, including support from the United Nations Security Council.
He also highlighted opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between Iran and France, urging both countries to expand bilateral relations.
The French Foreign Minister reportedly expressed full support for diplomatic efforts and stressed the importance of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides also underscored the need for safe and secure maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with international law.
